Hosting & remote support
Managed hosting, maintenance and remote support. The unglamorous part of the job, and the part that decides whether your website is an asset or a recurring problem.
Hosting is sold on price and judged on the worst day. Nobody cares about the hosting until the site is down, the SSL certificate has expired, the backup turns out not to exist, or the email stops working during a domain move.
We host the sites we build because we would rather control that than explain to a client why a third party has broken their website. It also means when something goes wrong, the person diagnosing it is the person who wrote the code.
Launch day should be boring. So should every day after it.
Managed hosting
- South African delivery. Our own site responds in under half a second from a Johannesburg edge, and Google scores it 91/100 for speed on a phone — local matters.
- SSL installed and renewed, with HTTPS forced. No expired-certificate warnings scaring your customers away.
- Automatic backups, and more importantly, backups we have actually restored from so we know they work.
- Uptime monitoring, so we usually know before you do.
- Security headers and sensible configuration rather than a plugin that claims to do it.
Maintenance
- Content updates — prices, services, staff, photos, opening hours.
- Speed and Core Web Vitals kept in check as the site grows and images get added. We re-run PageSpeed Insights after every content change, not once at launch.
- Broken links, forms and integrations checked rather than discovered by a customer.
- Search Console and analytics monitored, so a drop in traffic gets noticed early.
Remote support
Beyond the website, we help with the practical technical jobs small businesses get stuck on: business email setup and migration, domain and DNS problems, Microsoft 365 accounts, getting a new laptop configured, and the general "this stopped working and I do not know why" category.
It is remote by default, which is faster than waiting for someone to drive out, and we are in the Vaal if something genuinely needs hands on it.
Migrations without downtime
- Planned for zero downtime
- DNS
- Verified before cutover
- Old site
- Redirected, not discarded
Moving a website is routine. Moving email is where businesses get hurt — a misconfigured MX record means lost mail, and lost mail means lost orders. We treat the email migration as the critical path, check every record before switching, and set up redirects so the old addresses keep working and your search rankings transfer rather than reset.
No lock-in
Hosting with us is month to month and the domain stays in your name. If you want to leave, we hand over the files, the DNS and the accounts. We have taken over enough sites from providers who made that deliberately difficult to have strong feelings about it.
